about Kirkwood HELPS
“Overcoming Barriers & Changing Lives”
Kirkwood HELPS is the programmatic “face” and fundraising mechanism for charitable donations that are routed through Kirkwood United Church of Christ (KUCC), an existing 501c(3) entity, to help fund Kirkwood HELPS mission. KUCC will receive, manage and track all charitable donations intended for Kirkwood HELPS though its established giving platform. KUCC will also be responsible for disbursing any checks to pay for Support Program supplies and Kirkwood HELPS only, non-volunteer position, a part time Support Program Coordinator.
H.E.L.P.S. is an acronym for: Heal, Empower, Listen, Provide and Shelter; representing some of the key attributes and objectives of Kirkwood HELPS mission. A mission focused on providing help to those seeking assistance living on the streets of Kirkwood using a more compassionate and effective approach to deal with our neighbors in need. We help feed the hungry and give hope to the underserved and those seeking shelter.
The other key function of Kirkwood HELPS 2.0 is to provide a collaborative and synergistic opportunity for Intown Cares case managers to leverage their efforts and results by tapping into Kirkwood HELPS/KUCC's neighborhood-embeded Support Program facilities, services and support team. We can accomplish more by working together!

Our Mission
Our mission is to help our neighbors in need living on the streets of Kirkwood to overcome personal barriers and access the services and resources that will help them regain stability and independence.
To help accomplish our mission, Kirkwood HELPS collaborates with social case managers who counsel Kirkwood’s unhoused seeking help with access to food, available, safe and supportive shelter, government ID’s, transportation, medical services and mental health services.
Our Vision
We envision a Kirkwood where every unhoused individual is empowered to rebuild their life, where compassion and support are readily available, and where homelessness and hunger are eradicated.
